The recommended amount of sleep prescribed by physicians is around 6-9 hours a night. But for today’s professionals, parents, and college students that recommended amount is easier said than done. Old habits die hard, but with new smart technology emerging to solve health issues, there is some hope. At the IFA Tech Conference in Germany, Samsung has revealed a new device that may give the sleep deprived some assistance in getting a better night’s rest.
SleepSense is a device that is placed underneath the consumer’s mattress and tracks their movements throughout the night. It can also be configured to be connected to other smart home appliances and decipher which habits are the ones causing them to lose precious hours; such as eating late in the evening, or watching television before attempting to go to bed. SleepSense connects to the consumer’s smartphone through Bluetooth and gives a full report of sleep activity through the SleepSense app.
